After a very positive introduction last year, Verity Leadership are again hosting an event where highly successful Senior executives discuss their relationship as mentor and mentee. This provides an insight into how such relationships work, what both people gain from mentoring engagements and profiles some fantastic leaders.
This year we are delighted to welcome the Chief Operating Officer of the Port Authority for NSW, responsible for Newcastle and Yamba Ports – Emma Fensom and her mentor Tony Cousins. Emma has successfully navigated a career in a very non-traditional area, and is also a Non Executive Director on the Seafarers Board and the Board of HVCCC. Tony spent ten years with the Australian flag merchant service with qualification as a Master Mariner which led to an international executive career in stevedoring, marine towage and port management. Now at the helm of a growing Marine Consultancy, Tony also contributes to the industry as a member of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Advisory Committee and Councillor of the Australian Mariners Welfare Society while volunteering as an Ambassador of the Sydney Heritage Fleet.
Join us to hear more from Emma and Tony, their careers and he role mentoring has played in their relationship.
